EATHAKUDI "GOPALA KSHETRAM"

         

Sri Rajagopala Swamy temple is situated at Eathakudi, which is 5 miles from Raja Mannargudi. It goes by name "EATHAKUDI" is referred to in ancient historical texts as GOPALA KSHETRAM'. There is also an interesting episode associated with -NAMMALVARS" saying

"VANDWARAPATHI MANNAN — MANIVANNAN-MAYAN-VASUDEVAN-MANIYILANI NIRAMAYAN".

The Lord also gave darshan to his devotees as a "COWHERD" (savior of cows and calves). Presiding deity is Lakshminarayana Perumal and Utsava deity is Sri Rajagopala Perumal accompanies with Sri Rukmani and Sri Sathyabama. "SPECIALLY FOR THE PROSPERITY OF THE GENERATION "SANTHANA GOPALAN" IS BLESSING THE DEVOTEES.

  

Besides other deities/idols installed are Anjaneya, Ramanuja, Manavala Mamunigal and Garudalwar.

Sivan temple is situated east side of "Eathakudi". Presiding deities are Meenakshi and Sundareswarar.
The prominence of this temple is for the presence
of Lord Vinayaga, Lord Muruga with His consorts Valli and Deivanai, Lord Saniswara and Lord Dakshinamurthy People from far off places visit during festive occasions like PRADOSHAM KANDA SHASTI, SANI PEYARCHI and GURU PEYARCHI.

Besides EATHAKUDI is famous for the all powerful diety Sri Mariamman known as PONNAMBALAM' MARIAMMAN KOIL" is blessing the devotees from South East side.

 

Many devotees from abroad visit this temple especially on Firdays, Sundays and new moon days (ammavasya) for "Fortune Telling" (Kuri Solludhal).
According to the inherent wishes of the devotees few more deities like PECHIYAYEE, KATHAVARAYAN are being installed.

Lord Ayyanar known as `BALASASTHA' temple is located in North West Besides Veeran is installed in the temple.

All these temples and in addition to a few other temples are in existence since long in Eathakudi.
